Operations Support Branch

RIEMA’s Operations Support team is dedicated to enhancing emergency management efforts by delivering the resources, coordination, and expertise necessary for effective disaster response and recovery.

Ops Support deploys, installs, operates, and maintains critical telecommunications, logistics, and operational assets in support of planned events and disaster responses, working alongside first responders to assist communities in need. 

The Operation Support Branch oversees, troubleshoots, and maintains the Rhode Island Statewide Communications Network (RISCON). This network is used by all state and local public safety agencies and their subscriber devices. Additionally, they maintain the state’s public safety network, and communications training for all public safety entities. 

Key Capabilities

• Interoperable Communications: We facilitate seamless coordination between federal, state, tribal, territorial, and local governments, as well as the private sector and non-governmental organizations(NGOs).
• Disaster Response & Recovery: Our Operational Communications support (voice, video, data) ensures effective response and recovery efforts, empowering first responders to act quickly and efficiently.
• All-Hazard Emergency Management: We provide comprehensive support throughout the entire disaster management lifecycle—encompassing preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery—to ensure resilient communities in times of crisis.
